Hi again. Not much time for this since WTA Linz is about to start (in fact it started yesterday with two matches:)). This is the first post in a series of "go deep, go down" lists which I am planning to introduce on my blog. OK, for now, I will just list the names because I don't want to miss the "start" of the tournament at 11 AM. Later on today I will explain what it all means :)) and what has happened since my last post at the end of May...
WTA Linz (250,000 €, indoors, women)
GO DEEP list: Gasparyan; Pavlyuchenkova; Cibulkova; Siniakova; Maria
GO DOWN list: Larsson; Mladenovic; Ferro; Blinkova; Goerges
Have fun! :) (and don't hesitate to comment).
*Daily RECAP after QF (edited: 16.10.2018; 12:49)
Well, the game is over after quarter-finals... GO DEEP list turned out
to be quite disappointing, especially Pavlyuchenkova (0-2 ATS) couldn't
find her rhythm. Gasparyan played really well but after the biggest win
of her career (!!) in the second round, she had too little fuel in the
tank for next round battle with Giorgi (eventually winner of the
tournament). Siniakova got probably injured, Cibulkova withdrew from the
play and Maria (1-1 ATS) was ok, but she happened to play with in-form
Petkovic. The GO DOWN list, on the contrary, was very successful -
overall 6-2 ATS and I wish every list could turn out to be so good in
the future:))
So the first quest is behind us, in total it ended
up 8-7 ATS (53%) and about +0 unit potential profit. As mentioned above
I am not satisfied with GO DEEP list - one hit more and it would be a
decent score. But hey, WTA Moscow2018 is already on, so I am leaving WTA
Linz in the past and I am getting down to work...

*Daily RECAP after round of 16 (edited: 12.10.2018)
After round of 16 our lists are quite successful, especially GO DOWN list, where only Mladenovic is still left in tournament and today she is playing with in-form Petkovic so I am optimistic about it :) So right now GO DOWN list is 5-2 ATS (against the spread), which potentially means profit of ca. +2,5 units. GO DEEP list is not so effective so far, Cibulkova must have withdrawn from the tournament, Pavlyuchenkova struggled and won in the 2nd round with Lapko but she didn't cover the -3,5 spread (it was very close match on high level); Siniakova went down after taking MTO in 2nd round match against Alexandrova. Maria is 1-1 ATS but she was bested in the second match by very dangerous Petkovic (now I think she may go for a title here). And Gasparyan is still in the game - yesterday she gained one of the biggest wins of her career with top10 Bertens in the great match. Overall both lists are 7-5 ATS and with good prospects for coming rounds :)
