(Key thoughts in english below the main post)

cellarPicks - last three months RECAP [+21u/+19%]

2020 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) was postponed or even canceled, so having some spare time, I will use it to wrap up the last 3 months on my blogabet paid service.

Since 2019 December, so from switching to paid mode, I posted 110 picks (92 table tennis and 18 tennis) which brought 21.3 units of profit at ROI of 19%. Unfortunately, my official record and chart seen on blogabet site show much less profit, because 31 picks with a profit of 13u.(+42%ROI) were posted as free and are not included in main blogabet statistics :(( But of course all are documented and you can check them if dig deeper in ALL picks stats.

Why do I sum up paid and free picks? Well, from the start I treated free picks as an incentive and also a promotion for my service. I have been doing the same analytical job in case of paid and free ones, and have no control over which picks will hit. So as I said from scratch to my paid subscribers that they should follow free picks as well.

21.3u/ROI=19% looks very good but I have really mixed feelings about this past quarter. The distribution of paid and free picks was just ridiculous. I should also be bolder and more frequently use stakes larger than 1/10.

In the last or two weeks of February, you might have noticed free tennis picks tagged as "HoN" - why does it mean? For those who read my private blog it's obvious, but I will also publish this recap on blogabet blog section, so a few words of comment - these picks come from one of my projects called Hot or Not, and I decided to document picks related to it both on twitter (@voy_tennis) and my blogabet account. It's up to you if you trust these picks, I personally would bet on it:), of course WTA is more efficient market and expected results should be lower but still in profit. I am using 1/10 stake for these picks.

I haven't decided yet if I will wrap up monthly or quarterly in the future. Being in this business for a long time, I believe that quarters are more valid and meaningful but from yours/followers perspective it's maybe expected to hear from me more often than once in 3 months. Plan for the future is pretty much the same, although I think there will be fewer free picks and I will use stakes 2/10 and 3/10 more often.

HOT or NOT - week 8/20 Recap and how to read this recaps?

I write this post a) to recap week 8/20 (Dubai) and b) to exemplify how HoN is to run. Maybe one picture bellow will be worth more than many words I wrote before. On a regular basis, recaps will be posted in HoN posts as week and tournaments end but this post I treat as a kind of instruction on how to read my tables and how to understand the whole idea of Hot or Not lists. In the future when answering queries it will be easier to refer to this post than to explain the same all over again.

For start a reminder who was on the lists in week 8/20:
Hot list: Halep; Mertens; Brady; Mugu; Kontaveit; Kenin; Rybakina; Pliskova
Not list: Svitolina, Sevastova,
Not list, if QF: Strycova, Martic
Basically in the recap table below you will see all matches that picked player played in. Some exceptions are possible, eg. in week 8/20 Strycova and Martic were put on sub-list "not, if QF", so in the table below you won't see their 1-2 round's matches, only from quarter-final stage.
So in the table you can find information such as date, round, players, "side" means just which player I played on in a given order, then "exclusions" and info if the prediction is a win or miss (1 or 0).
In "side" column you may notice a sign "eo", which usually means the two players from hot list are to play each other and this match will be naturally excluded.
Please don't worry about the "exclusions" section marked by yellow frame - this is my own mumbo-jambo and in short it represents different types of collisions with my other models or concepts. I am showing it here to a) be transparent and b) it clarifies a little bit the transitions from the "raw subset" to final picks posted on twitter/blogabet.
So what are the main information for you in this table? I think maybe two - 1) how performed the raw subset and 2) how the posted picks went. What do I understand by "raw subset" - these are all matches that players from the lists are involved in. In week 8/20 there were 15 such matches, remember that matches marked "eo" are not counted. And the most important info concerns the performance of posted picks which you can see marked in the green oval. This is easy and should be clear for everyone - I posted 3 picks on twitter/blogabet coming from week 8/20 schedule, two of them were wins and one miss. You can check it on my twitter: https://twitter.com/voy_tennis
HoN #001 Brady to win @ 1,84
HoN #002 Kontaveit-3 Martic @ 1,9
HoN #003 Rybakina -1,5 Martic @ 1,877
So the result of the raw subset was 4 units, ROI 27% and the result of posted picks was 0.8 units and also ROI 27%. These two metrics I will put in the title of the post when the week is over and added up. (This week you will see: raw:+4; posted:+0.8) Looks like week 8/20 was pretty good mostly due to Rybakina.

I know that this method has some flaws. I am aware that I can be accused of manipulations, especially at the beginning of the week when I work on a tight schedule and have to analyze many matches and I am often late with publishing the lists. But as I said before if I would cheat then mostly myself...For you guys posted picks are all it counts and they are/will be on time and verified by blogabet (probably there are some ways to manipulate twitter posts, but just don't know twitter that much and I am not aware of it)

WTA - March wrap-up [+7,4!]

March has come to an end so it's time for a short wrap-up. After disappointing February, this month was much better for my paid picks (which you can find on Omnibet). Overall 23-13-2 ATS and the profit of 33 units, but as some of you may know I use stakes 5u. and 4u, so this 33u. translate to about 7,4 units flat (!!). 23-13 ATS (apart from 2 pushes) gives hit rate of 64%, which every handicapper would welcome with satisfaction. Of course, not everything went perfect, especially I remember 23rd of March when both Osaka and Wozniacki didn't cover their spreads, I would say, in unprecedented circumstances. But I am not going to complain about 64% ATS... no, no I haven't gone crazy yet:) April started well already, so GL to everyone and to the next monthly wrap-up.

Table tennis - March wrap-up [+8,4]

There were four tournaments in March and there will be no more until April, so I can make some summary. Well, in short, it was a very profitable month with 29 picks resulted in 8,4 units of profit and yield of almost 30%. So I can't complain, although not everything went perfect:). Just from the top of my head I remember one match between Konecny and Kleprlik, in which I backed Konecny (for many reasons) and there were some crazy rallies which ended up in Kleprlik's favor. It was a very tight match, finally a miss and I had three doubles bets based on this match...
All the record you can find on my MBP account, where you can buy a monthly subscription for just 19 euro.

WTA - February wrap-up [-1,6] and overdue January wrap-up [+2,8]

February was tough for my "paid picks" and needs some comment. In total it was 15-2-13 ATS (15 wins, 2 pushes, 13 misses), so with 54% it could be a moderate month for a regular handicapper. Just to remind, all these picks you can find on Omnibet (independent verification portal) and also on blogabet as a "Private Picks". (my blogabet account is currently closed by some fuc... anti-spam bot). It could be a moderate month but it's NOT... mostly due to picks and stakes structure, which results from a complexity of my current predicting model. I take into account a few main factors and a few another, let's call them supplementary factors, of less importance. Only if the main factors could give two possible outcomes than you can imagine how many combinations may occur. Depending on how main (and subsidiary) factors confluence each other it creates my predictions which are not the same in terms of assessment of probability. To simplify it a little bit, I divide these predictions into two groups, which you can observe in stakes I use. In short, predictions with stake 5 are stronger IMO, and these with stake 4 are "weaker". (but still strong enough to take a try).
February was really weak for my 5-units predictions, only 5-9 ATS (36%), frankly it was one of the worse if not the worst month since I run this model. In contrary 4-units predictions went well, 10-4 ATS (71%) is, in fact, more than a good result. So once again, in total 15-13 ATS, but as it's reported on Omnibet there was a loss of 7.16 units, divided by 4,5 (an average stake) equals to -1,6 units FLAT. Of course I am not happy with these results, there were some crazy/strange matches among the 5-units predictions and I found some explanation for myself, but I will not go into details right now. Fact is the fact - there is a loss in February..., one thing to sugar the pill is the fact that overall 15-13 ATS is not that bad...
And of course, it was extraoridnary month for my free picks..., the GDGD method produced +7,8 units flat while covering tournaments in Doha, Budapest and Acapulco.

*And a few words about January, which started quite good and ended up with 27-21(56%) ATS and about +2,8 units FLAT. The method/model was the same as in February, but you can encounter 2-units picks there. Frankly speaking, I don't remember now what I meant by that then, but there are only five of them (2-3 ATS) and are rather insignificant. When it comes to stake structure, January feature 17 5-units picks: 10-7 ATS(59%) and 26 4-units picks: 15-11 ATS(57%). These numbers are pretty much an average compared to what I observed in the previous months while running my model (or in back-tests).

Table tennis - February wrap-up [+9,8]

February has passed quickly, so let's try to sum it up a little bit in terms of my table tennis predictions. As I said a month ago, table tennis (TT) is not my main interest these days, but this is where I started. It is like coming home sometimes, I feel comfy on this market:) and still, after all these years I think I am improving my predicting models which enable me to find some value here.
This month was a little bit different than others due to some organizational changes that I introduced. After some conversations with friends, followers and some paid picks platform managers I decided to refined my service. I also ask to close my old MBP account and started a new one dedicated only to table tennis (my WTA picks you can find on omnibet, and blogabet). At least two reasons for that:
1) Go out in public with picks and doing it in private is two different things
2) Yield is the king! I will try to bring more attention to my picks by high-yiled formula. In practice, it will mean to avoid short odds, for even if I see a value there it is very, very hard to make more than 10% of yield on short odds. Instead of that I will publish some accumulators (mainly doubles) made of short odds, sets handicaps as usually and some longer odds bets as well.

Results in February: Well, it's a little bit tricky because as I said above I have closed my former MBP account about one week before the end of February, so you won't be able to see the results from the start of the month (and January also.... ups). So you must believe me on my word - February had a slow start, and just before closing the former MBP account it was around zero, I don't remember exactly for there were also some WTA picks involved but for sure it was a positive result.
Then in the last week of February, I started to publish picks in line with the new high-yield approach. There were two tournaments in this week and I have made some crazy results... of course, it was a very short period of time and the results will not stay this way, but just look by yourself :)

Frankly, it looks like a fake to me:). There are 98,4 units in February and a yield of 66%.
To be continued...

Table Tennis - January Wrap-up [+14,6!]

Let's start with a new series of posts on my table tennis picks.

This blog is dedicated mostly to WTA, but this is not where I started about 9 years ago...

I hope somebody to consider these posts and my table tennis picks helpfull. Maybe TT is not my main interest now but I have huge experience on this market and with much less effort then years before I still spot some value there and can turn it into my (and yours) profit.

Recently I moved my activity form blogabet (420 picks and yield 10%, as for 12.02.2019) to my mybigpartner account.

January was more than OK... I produced 73,1 units of profit which translate to 14,6 units FLAT, since the regular stake is 5 (or 5/10 if you wish). 49 tips is a quite bit, but pls notice that I often "exploit the value" by giving two tips for the same event, but of course two different tips like the main line and set handicaps. But take it easy, it's all checked and proved by years of profits... You can check it in details here.

Table tennis and especially Challenger Series is a very specific niche, it's also small-to-medium market but if you are the beginner or an intermediate punter and still have access to European bookies like bet365, bet-at-home, sportingbet, william hill, most of russian bookies etc. then these picks will be perfect for you and your bankroll:)) So take a ride with me.

WEEK 17-18 WRAP-UP: Stuttgart-Istambul, Prague-Rabat

Another weak week (two weeks) but with a little profit this time, but I wouldn't call it the breakthrough. More details in the weekly report. Probably I will repeat myself, but I can't wait to close the March-April which was the worst period since I introduce the current method of making predictions. I see it clearly on a much larger amount of predictions since published ones are only a sample. It is the worst period within at least 18 months and the timing is even more terrible - just when I set out the paid service :(( I have made some adjustments but only a few details for I still have my faith in the "method". I will be even more selective here and there and maybe straight WIN market will appear but the handicaps still will be the core of the "system". This is how it works in this business, January-February were above the average (in plus), next two months were simply bad ..but let's hope this is the end of this slump.

WEEK 16 WRAP-UP: Zhengzhou

Hi. A quick wrap-up of a very quiet week with just one (125K category)  tournament in Zhengzhou. There was just one paid tip. Finally, we have a green week:) but really it doesn't change much in the picture of very poor April. For more details check out in the weekly report.
There was also one free tip, which was very close but unfortunately turned out a miss. The last week of Aprill just in front of us so let's hope we will have some more luck.(since rational arguments haven't worked well in this month...)

WEEK 15 WRAP-UP: Lugano/Bogota

Another week went by, so it is time for a quick wrap-up. Unfortunately, still I don't have good news. That was very rainy week both in Lugano and Bogota, with many breaks and match renewals and also with various misfortunes. I still can't get across to the green side... There were 7 paid pick resulted in 3-4-0; If only one of this misses went in, and two were very very close, then we would score some profit. Form more details pls check out the weekly report. In this week there were also two free tips/prediction, ironically both wins. So altogether in some sense, it was a positive week but I know this is not what you (potential followers) are looking for. I hope this is the promise of change in trends, fortunes and profits...

WEEK 14 WRAP-UP: Charleston/Monterrey

Hi. A little bit late but here it comes - the weekly wrap up for week 14. This week action took place in Charleston and Monterrey and ...this was another terrible week, this time on clay.
The result of -5 units flat on only 8 picks is a nightmare. I couldn't go better if I was picking to lose… Below you can find some more details in the weekly report.
I wrote some words in the comments section but really if the results will not improve all this comments and analysis turn out worthless. I am pretty disgusted with the effects, but still have some hope looking back at previous years of positive results. Even in this year, January and February were great and now this slump has an awful timing, just when I started paid service....

WEEK 12 WRAP-UP: Miami

Hi guys. This is the first post from new series of "Weekly Wrap-ups", that I have planned for some time. In the passing week-12, we played in Miami, and betting-wise this week was very, very frustrating for me. As a whole March, frankly speaking.

Below you can find a small report of this week's released tips with my comments.

There were 11 tips resulted in 3(wins)-6(lost)-2(push). Yield -29% is just disastrous, and indicate that something went completely wrong. From the probability point of view, such a result has a little chance to occur, especially considering my long-term yield about 7-8%. As you can see (and read in comments' column) there were some strange results in this week. At least 3 misses were very, very close to switch into hits. By making such a sensitivity analysis, by changing at least 2 of these 3 misses to hits, the yield would be -5% flat and -2% in stakes, which is still not good, but normal in weak periods. (I talking about tip no. 7 and 9).
I don't want to make silly excuses... my intention is to put this results in some perspective and show how shaky the final result can be. The main reason for this analysis is not to excuse myself in front of you, but in particular to understand what went wrong, what I did wrong, where can I improve or even to check if my method is still working.
Summing up the main reason for the poor results was unexpected shifts in player's form. Could I see it earlier …? Maybe in the case of Pavlyuchenkova and Puig** I could but in case of Dodin or Hercog, it came out of nowhere.

**(private bets that you can't see here)
